Rehearsals will be held 3-4 times per week, on nights and weekends, in Hell's Kitchen. This is an unpaid production.
What to Prepare
Please prepare a one minute cut (16 - 32 measures) of a pop/rock song and a one minute cut of a contemporary musical theater song.
A pianist will be provided. Bring printed sheet music for both songs in the correct key, with all cuts and changes clearly marked. (No prerecorded music tracks, or a cappella singing, please.)
A headshot and resume must be presented at the initial audition.
Character Breakdown
LORD BYRON (Male, 20s/30s) Rock Baritenor. The famous and infamous poet, sexy and arrogant.
MARY SHELLEY (Female, 20s/30s) Soprano with pop mix. Young writer struggling to find her own voice. Also plays Mary as an older woman remembering the events at the Villa Diodati.
PERCY SHELLEY (Male, 20s/30s) Baritone. Sensitive and eager young poet.
CLAIRE CLAIRMONT (Female, 20s) Belter with pop mix and light soprano. Beautiful and opportunistic half-sister to Mary.
JOHN POLIDORI (Male, 20s/30s) Rock Tenor. Byron’s personal physician, eccentric and tormented.
